Elevated Website through UX Research & Design

As UX Lead and product owner, I collaborated with Tarion stakeholders to address key user needs and design a simplified and modern experience.

Vision

Tarion's flagship website had never been developed or managed through a user experience lens and consistent garnered negative feedback. Our vision was to completely restructure and design the site based on user insights.  Milestones included a robust discovery and research phase, content audit and restructure, modern UI, as well as usability testing, communications & promotion.

Phase One: Discovery

A robust qualitative & quantitative research phase was conducted to better understand user groups and goals, uncover user needs and expectations, reveal usability pain points and align on opportunities to improve the experience.

With a user centric direction, we applied our learnings through an audit and restructuring of the site, including content review, analysis & updates. With a new architecture and condensed content, low and mid fidelity wireframes were created, prototyped and tested with real users.

A modern, branded design system was created to refresh the look & feel of the site with high fidelity wireframes for desktop, tablet and mobile to capture each page type. With the design system implemented, we crafted each new page and all updated content across the site.

LauncH & post launch TESTING

The site launched as the public reveal of Tarion's new visual identity. With such drastic changes to content and navigation, we employed a communications and adoption strategy to guide users and make the transition seamless. After 3 months, confirmation interviews and usability testing were conducted to provide remaining insights & result metrics.
